Manticore

One of the interesting mythological creatures, that you can come across in different folklores, is the manticore. Manticore is a creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a lion, the head of a human, wings of a bat, and the tail of a scorpion. Its name comes from Persia, where it meant "human-eating" and was created to scares merchants trying to use old Persian trade ways. What's interesting is that on the Pomeranian soil there have been found imaginations of a manticore. The only noticeable difference is the creature being tailless.
Recently I came across an interesting event while coming back home after school. An elderly lady who was standing in the middle of the bus was literally screaming at every single person that came into the bus without a mask, or was standing remotely close to her. So basically she made every person in the bus be on the other side of it. None of the people meant harm to her but they still hit by some unpleasant words. Don't get me wrong when I say I didn't like her behavior. Its understandable that wanted everyone to have a mask on, due to obvious reason being covid and her being in the group of danger, but she could have done that on a more polite way. Not only that but making people change places is in my opinion unfair seeing that buses are public places and if she is to worried to be near other people she should either get someone to lift her or take a taxi.

Evergiven

Two week ago giant container ship the Evergiven has been freed from the Suez canal, unfortunately for the owners it is stuck once. This time 220,000 ton megaship is not caught in the sand and water but in legal row between Egyptian authorieties and the ships owners. Everyday around 50 ships pass through the canal, this incident made 442 vessels held up. The estimated losses are around 1 billion dollars a day. The canal authority claims that there is no fault on their site. I think that even though this whole situation was unfortunate incident the ships owners should cover at least some percentage of losses.

John Keating

John Keating was a charisamtic and energetic English teacher whose methods of learing were very unconventional, fascineting and mostly pretty weird. Often the discussion about him being a good teacher comes up. Questioning whether his ideas were working and actually making students learn something. I believe that mr. Keating was an amazing teacher one, who can rarely see nowdays let alone in the 60s. His methods not necessarerly were teaching students the subject itself but were making them learn it by themselves whilst having developed huge passion towards it, which will surely help in the adult life. His lesson, aside from eduction were source for huge ammounts of entertainment so students are never bored and learn more actively. Seeing all of this I thing mr. Keating was the greatest things that happened to his students and if every teacher was passionate even a bit like him educion in the world would thrive.

Leek lights

In the Netherlands artist Daan Roosegaarde with the help of photobiologists created „light recipe for a field of leeks. He covered over 20 sq metre field in red, blue and UV lights, making quite a view after the sunset. This whole spectale besides being stunning view is helping plants in many ways. The lights help crops grow better by effectively lenghtening sunlight hour. It also help plan get rid off insects or weeds. According to UN estimated global population to feed by 2050 is 9 billion which makes the whole expering possible solution as Wargent says it could be the next great revolution in agriculture. I think the whole things with creating lights over crop field is a great idea not only in agriculture but also in tourism as it not only gives huge benefits towards the plants but also makes quite a view to see.

Perserverance

Recently, Nasa's rover called Perserverance touched down on the surface of Mars, starting euphoria not only at Nasa but all over the world. After covering almost 500 million killometres it has pierced martian athmosphere at approximately 19,000 km/h, after which it made self-guided descend and landing. It is said that although the landing was increadibly hard and dangerous everything performed flawlessy making this achivement "the beggening of a new era".  For now Perserverence's mission is to find any clues that might suggest that there is or were life on Mars. In the next decade there 2 mission planned. Their goal is to retrieve the data collected by the rover. In my opinion this extreamly important event because not only does it give us more information about mars but it also pushed tehchonlogy even further, knowing that Perserverance's tech was a succes.

Colombias Hippos

During the time of his "reign" Pablo Escobar imported lots of exotic animals such as girrafes, elephants, kangaroos or hippos for his private zoo. After his death in the 90s most of those animals were either moved to natural habitats or killed, with the exeption of hippos who quickly became one of teh biggest  tourist attractions. Unfortunately those animals pose a huge threat to both human lifes and nature. Hippopotamuses are huge and often aggresive animals, already there have been reports on humans being attacked, sometimes even infured. Not only that but while spending most of the day in the water they tend to defecate there making the waters greatly polluted. That why wild live specialst think that the best way out would be culling those animals considering their population is growing faster and faster. I think that slaughtering those hippos is neccesary considering the costs of moving and the fact that south america isn't their native habitat, because of  that they ...
